Classes & Teams
LFRS uses "Classes"
to allow different settings.
  • Classes set a combination of race length, time limit or not, steering help or not. So both keyboard drivers and wheel drivers, and drivers with all kinds of connections will find a suitable combination and still can race in one team.
  • See the rules of your league for the number of classes and their properties.
Teams play an
important role in LFRS.
  • In any one class, a team may have two active drivers. Their points are added together to get the team result for that class.
  • Teams also function across multiple classes. The team results in each class are added together to get the overall team championship results.
  • In GP4, you can choose to run in the endurance and/or sprint team championships instead of the overall team championship. The endurance is for the long distance classes and the sprint for the short distance classes. So four drivers are already a full lineup for the endurance and sprint team championships.
N.B. The choice for OTC or ETC/STC is fixed after a result was submitted for your team.
  • You are not required to be the member of a team to run for the class championship. However, joining a team has many advantages: you can share setups and racing experience, and the team can cheer you up if you have screwed up your race (this will happen to everyone some day!).
Registering as driver
What must be done? Steps to take
First, you have to register
yourself as a driver at LFRS.
  • Click on "Register" in the Login Area.
  • Fill the form, and submit.
  • You will see a message with your new driver number.
  • Now go to the main page, and login with your LFRS driver number and password. You will be in your LFRS Centre.
Next, sign up for the
League you want to drive in.
  • In your LFRS Centre, click on "Sign up for league" under "Personal Info".
  • Check the box in front of your league, choose your team if you have a contract already, select the class of your choice, and click on "Sign up for leagues".
  • Now when you go to your LFRS Centre again, you will see the menu items for your league.
Joining a team
after registering.
  • If you do not have a team already when you register as a driver, or if you want to move to another team later, you can ask the team manager to invite you to the join the team. You will then see a message in your personal mailbox. The message will have a link, and if you click it you have joined the team.
You can also use the "Sign up for leagues" link again to apply for the team.
  • A good place to look for a team is in the Forum.
Registering your own team
Registering a team.
  • First give it a good thought if you really want to start your team. Often it is better to see if you can join an existing team. The teams that are around for some time (check the Archives in the Site Map) have a lot of experience already and offer a good racing environment.
  • If you still have decided to start your own team, go to your LFRS Centre and click on Register New Team. Fill the form and check the league(s) the team will drive. For GP4, choose if your team will run in the OTC or in ETC/STC (see above). Then click on Register team.
  • Now you will see extra menu items in your LFRS Centre to manage the team. Also watch your personal mailbox, because it will carry requests from drivers who want to join your team.
  • When you are going to invite a new driver to your team, first look up his driver number in the Competitors Driver list. (The driver must have registered and signed up for the league first.)
  • You can look for drivers in the Forum.
